One Reagent for Different Substrates (e.g. DNA and siRNA)

There is no need for you to have several reagents in stock. Besides transfecting DNA, HiFect is an excellent tool for knock-down experiments using siRNA as well. It thus offers ultimate flexibility to choose the appropriate substrate for your specific experimental set-up.

A
   HiFect

B
   Reagent OLF

Figure 4: HiFect outperforms an often used competitor reagent for siRNA transfer.
Several cell lines were transfected with 10 nM siRNA targeting mitotic kinesin Eg5 using HiFect (A) or competitor reagent OLF (B) (after titration of optimal reagent amount) in 96-well plates. Control samples were either untreated or transfected with 10 nM of an unspecific siRNA. 72 hours post transfection cells were stained with DAPI and subsequently counted using automated microscopy (ArrayScan VTI HCS Reader, Cellomics Inc.). Downregulation of Eg5 led to mitotic arrest and subsequent apoptosis. Samples transfected with HiFect showed a significantly higher phenotypic effect than those transfected with reagent OLF.
