For many cell lines in suspension, especially sCHO, conventional transfection methods are very limited in efficiency. For protein production, suspension cells are favored over adherent cells because they are much easier to cultivate. Unlike conventional transfection methods the Nucleofector technology provides excellent transfection efficiencies and viabilities for the suspension cell lines most relevant for protein production, including suspension CHO and suspension HEK293 facilitating the production of milligram amounts within a few days.
