Luciferase Assays

Reporter gene technologies are powerful tools to study gene expression and regulation. Successful reporter gene expression requires efficient delivery of state-of-the-art expression vectors into appropriate cells. In addition fast, reliable and sensitive reporter assays are needed to obtain meaningful results.

amaxa's non-viral Nucleofector technology is ideally suited for transfection of primary cells and difficult-to-transfect cell lines. It provides easy and reproducibly efficient transfection of virtually any cell type in single reactions or up to 96-wells at a time. In combination with Promega's luciferase reporter technology it leads to rapid and high expression within just a few hours. Promega's luciferase reporter vectors and assays represent to be the gold standard to perform highly sensitive, simple and flexible reporter gene studies. Thus these two technologies complement one another perfectly for such diverse uses as measurement of transcriptional activity, RNAi-mediated gene regulation and secondary screenings using cell based assays as read-out system in difficult-to-transfect cell types such as primary cells.
